Network Fundamentals

This course provides a practical introduction to networking fundamentals, covering essential hardware, layout, switches, routers, network types (LAN and WAN), basic configuration settings, protocols, and troubleshooting skills, empowering installers to set up reliable network infrastructures for modern technology needs.

What you will learn

• The role of switches, transmission media, connectors, hosts, and routers. • The network hierarchical model, and the differences between LAN (Local Area Networks) and WAN (Wide Area Networks). • How to configure basic communication settings for LAN and WAN environments. • How to identify, assign, and manage IP addresses and subnet masks (static vs. dynamic addressing). • An introduction to common communication protocols and basic troubleshooting techniques.
